Aculabs respects the privacy of protected health information and understands the importance of keeping this information confidential and secure. This notice describes how we protect the confidentiality of protected health information.
Electronic Communications Policy (SMS & Email)
Aculabs may use third-party communication services, including SMS/text messaging platforms and mass email services, to send customer service communications, billing and invoicing updates, logistical service announcements, or other important communications to clients. The frequency of SMS/text messages or marketing emails received may vary.
By providing your phone number and email address during the start-up form process, and opting in to receive communications, you consent to receive SMS messages and/or emails from Aculabs. SMS opt-in or phone numbers for the purpose of SMS are not being shared with any third party or affiliate company for marketing purposes.
You may opt out of SMS/text messages at any time by contacting our support team at itsupport@aculabs.com. To unsubscribe from email communications, you may use the “Unsubscribe” link included in our marketing emails or contact us directly.
Opting out of SMS/text messages or marketing emails will not affect your ability as an Aculabs client to receive important service-related updates via other permitted communication channels, such as by mail or phone calls.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Note: Information considered to be personal health information (PHI) will never be sent unencrypted via SMS or email.
Aculabs maintains a comprehensive system to ensure compliance with applicable provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 2016 (HIPAA). Since our goal is to provide the highest level of service to our clients and business associates, we want you to know how we comply with the HIPAA directives.
Our HIPAA Privacy Policy contains procedures addressing the protection, use, and disclosure of protected health information (“PHI”), accounting of disclosures, access by individuals and third parties to PHI, protection of PHI by contractors, business associate agreements, and training of employees.
How We Protect Personal Information
We treat personal information securely and with confidentiality. We limit access to personal information to only those persons who need to know that information to provide support services to our customers.
These persons are trained on the importance of safeguarding this information and must comply with our procedures and applicable laws. We employ strict physical, electronic, and procedural security standards to protect personal information and maintain internal procedures to promote the integrity and accuracy of that information.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may use or disclose protected health information to National Government Services (Medicare), Medicaid, and other private insurers who have agreed to contract with us to keep health information safe.
We have procedures in place for individuals to have access to protected health information, and procedures in place to ensure the integrity of our information and for the timely correction of incorrect information.

Aculabs, on recommendation from counsel, may find it necessary to revise and update its Privacy Policy from time to time as changes to the privacy regulations emerge and will communicate any such changes to our clients and business associates.
